Turns out Allen and I like to cook, and I have a new camera to learn to use (which I'm slightly afraid to take out into the wilds of Kampala). So, food pictures!
(Small because Uganda internet)

This is my second batch of bread in the five days since Austin and I got back from adventuring in northern Uganda. I'm not sure rosemary-onion bread was that appealing to the Ugandan palate, but we liked it. This is what remains of the four original loaves. (Recipe: Moosilauke Cookbook, via Helen Wilbur)
Pineapple! Fruit is excellent and cheap here. Lotsa mangoes too.
Allen made pickled peppers yesterday after almost killing us with Scotch Bonnet peppers the night before. The pickled peppers pictured (ha!) are a different kind that don't give you the hiccups and make you cry. Recipe is: boil some vinegar with lots of salt, add cut-up peppers, continue to boil 10 minutes, take out and add oil. They're pretty good in pineapple stir-fry.
