I am nearly over my cold, and even managed to work a pretty full day! Tomorrow I'd better feel good enough to go to the store, because we will soon be out of even rice and beans, which is quickly becoming my go-to food here.
Above, some of the pieces of technology I'm spoiled enough to have, all of which are very useful while sick. The computer, for Netflix and attempting small chunks of work, the headphones, for Netflix and escaping into music (thanks Austin!), and the Kindle, which I've spent the most time with. It gives you percentages (!) of how far through books you are - so I can tell you I've read a gajillion pages of Harry Potter in Spanish and am only 30% through. Am also a little over halfway through "Living the Best Day Ever" and am loving it - he's a little hyperbolic at times, but does a wonderful job with describing the challenges of leadership, the feeling of dropping into a rapid, the pull of adrenaline and recklessness, the rhythm of life on an expedition, the reality of being a white person in Africa. Reading Mr. Coetzee is rather enabling in this 'no plan' trajectory.
